The Government today announced the establishment of the Committee on Innovation, Technology & Industry Development, an advisory body to be chaired by the Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry.
The committee will advise the Government on the strategic development of innovation and technology (I&T) in Hong Kong, with the focus on priorities and key performance indicators to facilitate I&T development along the directions set out in the Hong Kong Innovation & Technology Development Blueprint.
The Government had earlier promulgated the blueprint and announced that a committee would be formed to enhance co-operation among stakeholders and drive the development of I&T in the city.
The committee mainly comprises representatives and experts from academia, information technology and other relevant sectors as well as government officials. They are appointed by the Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry for a period of two years.
