– Over 95% fatal cases were elderly aged 60 years or above; 49% were residential care home residents; 91% were with known chronic diseases

Following the relaxation of different anti-epidemic measures, the “LeaveHomeSafe” telephone hotline (2626 3066) and the mobile support stations at 25 MTR stations for supporting the vaccine pass measure will cease operation from January 8 onwards.

In view of the recent surge in demand for the relevant medicine, the Department of Health has put forward a series of measures, including stepped-up inspections at pharmacies and drugstores in the market to inspect the sales and inventory of the relevant medicine. While the tight supply of specific brand of medicine may be due to a surge in demand within a short period, the supply of other brands of medicine for relief of pain and fever is still sufficient.

Registered electors who wish to apply for the above-mentioned special polling arrangements should immediately contact the 24-hour dedicated hotline (Tel: 3693 4769) for assistance after receiving the isolation orders issued by the Centre for Health Protection. Applications must be made before 8pm on Saturday, January 7, so that the HAD can co-ordinate transportation arrangements.As for electors who are already in the Penny’s Bay Community Isolation Facility on the polling day, they may apply before noon on the polling day.
